Richard “Dick” Frederick Holzberger entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on January 4, 2023. He was born on September 28, 1942 in Great Falls, Montana to David Charles Holzberger and Mable Lucille Wiedemann Holzberger.
After earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Montana State University, Richard would enlist in the Army, serving his country until 1966. That same year he would marry his beloved Judy. The pair would move from Great Falls, Montana to Oklahoma City in 1969, raising their three children: Richard Jr., Jayna, and Robert.
An avid sports fan, Richard cheered hard for the Oklahoma City Thunder and the OU Sooner football team. He would attend games whenever possible, but he also enjoyed watching them at home with his family. Richard volunteered with his son’s Boy Scout troop just so that he could attend OU games. He even continued volunteering long after Rick was out of scouts. Richard was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Britton Road Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his siblings Thomas Holzberger and John Holzberger.
Richard leaves behind his wife Judy K. Holzberger; children Richard F. Holzberger, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Jayna K. Holzberger of Oklahoma City, and Robert F. Holzberger, of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Kalyb Parker and Kolton Parker; and great-grandchildren Jordan Parker, Jace Parker, and Jaclyn Parker. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were an endless source of joy.
A memorial service in honor of Richard will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Britton Road Church of Christ, 2520 W. Britton Road, The Village, Oklahoma 73120.
