Richard (Rick) Taylor Brewer

Richard (Rick) Taylor Brewer, born 11/27/55 in Oklahoma City, was taken from us suddenly on 9/4/10. He believed in God with all his heart, shared this love with his children, and attended NewChurch of OKC. In his youth, Rick was state Prep Player of the Year in baseball, softball tournament MVP, and an Eagle Scout. He helped build a family cabin at Lake Tenkiller with his father, and then enjoyed summer vacations there with his family for years after. He played baseball for and graduated from Northwest Classen High School in 1974 and played baseball at SWOSU. He continued to enjoy sports, playing and traveling in the competitive softball leagues for Wesley Methodist Church. He worked a long and loyal career in ad specialty manufacturing. He was a devoted fan of OU, Blazer hockey, and NASCAR. Rick is preceded in death by his father Vernon “Buffy” Brewer and niece, Monica Brewer; survived by his Mother, Ruby (Harrison) Brewer of OKC, brother Randy Brewer and wife Susan of OKC, daughter Rickie Farar, and husband Tim of OKC, daughter Valore Brewer and son Chase Brewer both of OKC, niece Jennifer McLin, husband Matt, their children Spencer, Ella, Bennett, and Audrey of Oregon, and many other extended family and friends.. Rick, you left us too soon, we will miss you everyday with all our hearts. Viewing will be at Guardian Funeral Homes West Chapel on Wed., Sept 8th, 6pm to 8pm and services at NewChurch, Thurs., Sept 9th, 10am.
