Rita Kay Byrd

Rita was born July 26, 1958, in Mangum, OK, the youngest child of the late Howard and Geneva Powell of Enid, OK. She was a graduate of Enid High School, class of 1976, and Philips University, 1980. She received her CPA license in 1986 and retired from Oklahoma Heart Hospital in 2021.

Rita loved all types of animals but was constantly surrounded by her dogs, Boo and Bella. In 2022, she was able to accomplish one of her lifelong dreams by visiting the San Diego Zoo. Her other love was spending time with her family, especially when visiting their home away from home of 35 years in Marco Island, FL. Despite suffering from chronic illness for many years, she was a present and loving wife, mother, and Grammy. Rita is survived by her husband, Martin, children, Brandon and his wife Shelby, Dillon and his wife Ashlee, and grandchildren, Ezekiel and Ember. She is also survived by her brother Steve (Linda) Powell and sister Brenda (Mike) Frickenschmidt.

Service will be held on September 30th at 1:00pm at Frontline Church Downtown Oklahoma City. The family will then proceed to Maysville, OK for burial. Condolences may be sent to Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, and flowers may be sent to Frontline Church Downtown Oklahoma City.
