Robert entered the amateur radio ranks and immediately jumped right in.  He Round-Tabled and participated in Nets and was a great guy to talk to.    Very Sorry to see him gone..

Robert was one of my first friends when I moved from NM to OKC. He was kind to me and could make me laugh on even the grayest of days. He was always up for nachos and long talks even in the middle of the night.  Goodbye, my friend. The world will miss you. I know I will.

I remember Robert’s passion for HAM radio way back in 5th grade. While the rest of us were barely able to tie our own shoes, he was at the cutting edge, learning to use and really understand the technology that would allow him to talk to people all over the world, opening doors for him and everyone who knew him to new and different ways of thinking. The technology changed over time, but his passion for people and service to others did not. We should all be more like Robert with the time we have left. I feel honored to have known him.

RIP Moose!!! We went to school together in Durant at NWH. He was always one of the smartest kids in our class. We should all strive to be the person he was. Always willing to help at a moments notice and when things “got real” here in Oklahoma he was there to let everyone know. No matter the topic he was there to keep us in the know. I always wondered where he went in adult life and one day I found him on FB. It was great to reconnect with him. I’ll miss the updates that he kept us all aware of when the weather was bad.

You were such a kind heart! I always enjoyed our talks. You were like a brother to me! I was blessed to have met you on IRC and our continued friendship through our mutual friend and then Facebook. I’m glad I was there during a time you needed someone back in the 90’s. Always in my heart ❤️

I will be forever thankful for meeting him. I knew him from IRC days plus he worked with my son for a short time.  We also knew him in the ham radio realm. He called me on phone to warn me about the weather on May 3rd 1999. He said take your handy talky ham radio with you to work and keep weather aware. I worked at SFMB at Penn Square.  I had heard from him ever so often.  You will be missed by many especially at KFOR. Prayers and thoughts being lifted for his family during this difficult time. Lost him way too son.

I worked with Robert and spent a lot of times talking to him about the Cubbies and how they couldn't win the World Series; they finally won the series in 2016! Robert loved baseball.
He was very interested in the weather and spent a lot of time monitoring it. He volunteered at the KFOR weather department for 20 years during bad weather. 
He was a HAM operator and monitored the police scanner. He would text me about tornadoes. It was such a shock when he passed. 
He'll be missed. Gone but not forgotten.”

I, along with a number of other amateur radio operators, knew Robert as "Quickie" due to his amateur radio call sign N5QKI. I first met him sometime during the 1990's when several of us "hams" would gather on a Friday night at a restaurant and sit and visit for several hours. I knew he was assisting with storm coverage at Channel 4 and was doing an excellent job.  73 to you N5QKI de N5NUK.

RIP Moose.  I have known Robert since our high school days as amateur radio operator.  He was instrumental in getting tornado information out to the masses including during May 3, 1999.   Many times he's call with a "heads up" including that day for many of us in the broadcast industry.   Rest easy Robert. 

I knew Robert from his Middle School days in Cushing. He was affectionately known as “Moose” during that time. He was always unique. His interests were different than most 12-year-olds back then, but that made him fascinating. I admired his intelligence and loyalty. I was so happy to reconnect with him via social media about a decade ago. He had a dry wit and wonderfully insightful perception that was so appreciated! He had good taste in music. I smiled every time he popped up on my feed. He always had something interesting to contribute to the conversation. His loss definitely leaves a hole behind that no one can fill. No one was like Moose. He was so special and will be deeply missed. May God comfort you and bring you peace.

I went to elementary school with Robert (Bobby at the time) and he was nice to everybody and I remember him being the smartest kid I'd ever met.   
I loved reading his updates and musings on facebook and twitter.  He was insightful, witty and unafraid to discuss hard topics.  He definitley had an impact on Oklahoma with his work.
Rest in peace friend.  You will be missed.
