Roger Lee Harrington, born December 13, 1962, in Oklahoma City, lived a life defined by kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength. A cherished member of our family and a devoted friend to many, Roger had a way of making everyone feel welcome. His warm smile, encouraging words, and countless acts of generosity touched the lives of all who knew him.
Roger graduated from Jones High School in 1981 and went on to dedicate 40 years of service to Jones Elementary as a custodian. He also spent many years as a bus driver, taking great pride in caring for the school, its students, and his community. His work was never just a job — it was a calling. He lived to help others, and he did so with humility, consistency, and a heart full of love.
A Christian man, Roger devoted his life to family, friends, and even strangers. He found joy in celebrating life’s milestones, sharing laughter, and creating memories that will forever live in our hearts. Above all, Roger treasured family. His love, strength, and compassion will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Roger is survived by his brothers, Bryan Harrington, Dale Harrington , cousins, extended family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sharon, and his brother, Gary.
Roger’s life was simple in the most beautiful way. You always knew where he was — he lived in the same place his entire life, a steady presence in a fast changing world. He loved the Kansas City Chiefs, the Sooners, old westerns, and was a proud, lifelong fan of Diet Dr Pepper.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing that love never ends. We will miss Roger every day, but his memory will remain with us always.
“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day.”
