Rose Irene Richart, 82, of Oklahoma City, went home to be with the Lord July 22, 2010. Rose was born in Solon Springs, Wisconsin on August 16, 1927 to parents Robert and Florence Hendry. She grew up beside Lake St. Croix in Solon Springs. She married Robert 'Bob' Richart, also of Solon Springs, in July of 1953, and together they enjoyed more than 56 years of marriage - never wanting to be separated for long. Rose and Bob moved to Oklahoma City in 1958 when Bob was transferred there from Duluth, Minnesota by Western Electric. Rose was an active member at Metropolitan Baptist Church where she served and volunteered in many capacities. She was also a member of the Gideons Auxiliary and enjoyed attending their annual conventions with Bob. Rose always loved to have her family get together for holidays and vacations. She liked to cook for them, play games with them, and sit and visit with them. Her gentle spirit and kind encouragement will be sorely missed. Rose is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bob. She is survived by daughter Diane Majors of Bellingham, Washington and family; son Don Richart of Oklahoma City and family; son Doug Richart of Shawnee, Oklahoma and family. Other surviving family members include her sisters, Marjorie Hendry of Gainsville, Texas and Barbara Pearson of Mt. Dora, Florida along with their families and numerous other extended family members and friends. Memorials may be made to Gideons, International or to a charity of choice. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home from 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at Metropolitan Baptist Church, 7201 West Britton Road at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 29, 2010.
