Roswita “Rose” Plisek

Roswita “Rose” Plisek, 88, of Del City, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rose was born on June 19, 1938, in Nuenkirchen, Germany, to Veronika Malter and Erwin Stroble.

While living in Germany, Rose met the love of her life, Leon A. Plisek, in Kaiserslautern, where Leon was serving in the U.S. Army. Leon knew from the moment he met her that she was the woman he wanted to marry. Together, they built a life filled with family, friendship, adventure, and many wonderful memories.

Rose and Leon loved traveling the world together, camping, fishing, and spending time with their dearest friends. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint. She was a wonderful cook and, above all, a devoted mother and grandmother.

Rose had a generous spirit and gave her time freely to others. When her children were young, she volunteered at their school. She also delivered Meals on Wheels and went door to door in support of the March of Dimes.

She approached life with a sunny disposition and an unmistakable zest for living. Rose had a stubborn streak and a bit of orneriness that her family lovingly attributed to her German roots, but it was all part of what made her uniquely Rose. She had a way of looking on the bright side, finding something to enjoy, and making the most of wherever life took her.

Rose loved music and loved to dance. In later years, one of her and Leon’s favorite pastimes was visiting the casino together as often as they could — and fortunately for Rose, she seemed to have more than her fair share of luck.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Linda (John), Debra (Terry), and Jorjean; her grandchildren, Krystal, Rachel, Ryan, Tiffany, Wesley, and Veronika; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Rheanna, Kyle, Jace, Blake, Avery, Zoey, Myalee, and Mason. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon; her daughter, Tena; her mother, Veronika; and her great-grandchild, Makaylee.

Rose will be remembered for her sunny spirit, her generosity, her sense of adventure, her stubborn determination, and her love of family, music, dancing, and life itself. She leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, traditions, and memories that will continue to be cherished by those who loved her.
