

Roy Varughese was born in Manarcad, India in Naduviledath house on August 12, 1956, to beloved parents, Rachel and P.V. Varghese. He graduated from the University of Calcut with a Bachelor’s of Science in Chemical Engineering (B. Sc. Engg.). He worked as an engineer in Bombay, India. After marriage, he moved to the United States to raise a family and worked for many years as an accountant at the Department of Human Services in Oklahoma. During his career, he received many awards for excellent performance from his employer.
Roy loved music and was especially fond of Christian songs in his native tongue, Malayalam. He was a devout member of St. Thomas Orthodox Church in Oklahoma and St. Mary’s Church in Manarcad.
Roy battled early-onset Parkinson’s disease for the last 16 years. On February 13, 2017, he died peacefully in Oklahoma City, OK.
His memory will be cherished by his wife Susan, daughters Tiffany and Shaina, and son Michael. He will be remembered by his family in India, his mother Rachel Varghese, sister Susha Mani and brother Dr. George Varghese.
There will be a public viewing for friends and family at St. Thomas Orthodox Church in Oklahoma City on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:30 pm and a wake service from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at St. Thomas Orthodox Church, with the procession to Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery to immediately follow.
