

Rudolfo Galvan Pena Sr, 67, of OKC passed peacefully from this life on Dec. 25, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Rudy Sr. was born in San Antonio, TX on Oct 8, 1950 to Deonicio and Celia (Galvan) Pena. The Pena family relocated to OKC while he was in grade school and following his high school graduation Rudy Sr. attended the University of Oklahoma where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree.
In the early 1970’s he married his childhood sweetheart Rebecca Quiroz. A few years later Rebecca gave birth to their son Rudy Pena Jr. In 1990 the family moved to Missouri where Rudy Sr. managed a small printing company. He also owned and operated Rudy’s Upholstery for much of his adult life. Rebecca passed away in 2004 and in 2013 Rudy Sr. returned to the OKC metro area to be near his family.
In his spare time he enjoyed watching sci-fi movies, working on his prized “Little Red Express” dodge truck, and watching OU and Dallas Cowboy football. He was a talented drummer and his love for playing music is something he shared with his son. He was also a long-time member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in OKC. Rudy Pena Sr. was a reserved and generous man who chose to live a quiet life. He was organized, thoughtful, and kind and he was never happier than when he was surrounded by his family whom he dearly loved. He left an unmistakable mark on the lives of those around him and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Rudy Sr. was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife Rebecca Pena. Left behind to carry on his legacy are his son Rudy Pena Jr; four siblings: Alice Munoz and husband Salvador, Hope Rodriguez and husband Tony, Dennis Pena and wife Jimmy, and Rosemary Davis and husband Ronnie. He is also survived by a niece Elizabeth Santos; two nephews Frankie and Roy Morales; and a sister in law Mona Tee.
