Samuel Lee Louis “Louie” Brooks was born on October 17, 1978, to parents Harold Dean Brooks and Glenda Louise Morgan in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Louie always believed in hard work. He bought his first house at the age of 16 years old. He worked for four years pouring concrete and building towers for Big Jim, who had a hand in shaping Louie into the man he became. He even gained a brother named Ed Williamson. He married his wife Jennifer, gained two beautiful daughters Halie and Baylee, and they had two beautiful children together Joshua and Autumn.
Louie went to drive for JB Hunt for 17 years and was awarded driver of the month, regional driver, driver of the year, and a million miles safe. He competed in the truck driving championship, where he won 1st place, 2 years in a row, and beat out FedEx, who would sweep the step van division every year. Louie always said, “If it has wheels and a steering wheel, I can drive it.” Which was true; he never drove a step van until the day of the competition. He competed in nationals and ended up taking 5th place. These accomplishments allowed his family to travel all over, and that meant the world to him. Louie semi-retired after 17 years. He was a family man who loved them dearly. He got to spend more time with his wife and kids, as they were his world, and he adored them. Louie also enjoyed time with his mom, grandpa, and brothers, who he loved with all his heart.
He was an amazing man. Louie put a sign out in his momma’s yard and started working around the community. Soon word of mouth spread and everyone else noticed how great he was too. He loved mowing yards; he didn’t just mow; he provided a service and took pride in everything he did. Anytime he got a tip, it didn’t matter if it was money, a hug, or even a kiss; it made his day. Louie built long-lasting friendships throughout his life. He is a treasure and will be forever loved and missed.
Louie is survived by his wife Jennifer Brooks of Meeker, Oklahoma; his mom Glenda Morgan (Daniels) of Meeker, Oklahoma; children Halie Nall (Jacob Cameron) of Huntington Beach, California; Baylee Ray of Jones, Oklahoma; Joshua Brooks of Meeker, Oklahoma and Autumn Brooks of Meeker, Oklahoma; brothers Harold Brooks (Dana) of Ashdown, Arkansas; Paul Brooks of Meeker, Oklahoma; Bobby Brooks of Meeker, Oklahoma and Montana Brooks (Baileigh) of Checotah, Oklahoma as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
