OBITUARY

Sandra Kay Flowers

January 27, 1949April 10, 2018

Sandra Kay Flowers died April 10, 2018, at her home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after several months battling cancer. She was a devoted mother to her three sons, Steven, Jeffery, and Michael, always willing to do whatever she could to encourage and support them. She loved her grandchildren, Conrad, Calvin, Olsen, and Stella, with all her heart. She was amazingly generous and always saw the best in people. Sandra was born in Lamesa, Texas, on January 27, 1949, and grew up in Abilene, Texas. After leaving home, she lived with her family in Florida, Montana, California, Mississippi, and Alabama, before settling down in Abilene in the 1980s. Sandra worked hard all her life, ultimately obtaining her cosmetology license and operating a thriving salon business with a loyal following of clients. In 2014, she retired and moved to Oklahoma City, where she shared a home with her sister and best friend, Shirley. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Henry James and Maybelle Perry James; her siblings, Billy James, Marvin James, Jr., and Linda Morris; and her son Steven Carl Flowers. She leaves many loving memories with her sons Jeffery Flowers and Michael Flowers; her grandchildren; and her siblings, Shirley Brown and Johnny James, Jr. Her family plans to hold a memorial in Abilene, Texas in July. Memories of Sandra can be shared and donations to the American Cancer Society honoring her memory may be made at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/sandrakayflowers.

Necy James Deason So sad, I have missed her over the years. What I think I remember most about her is how hard she worked to take care of her boys.

Sandra was such a dear, sweet lady and will be missed greatly.
She and I met when I became one of her many customer at Salon d'Bella.
Quickly, we became friends and enjoyed sharing life experiences.
She fought the good fight and is now with her Savior.
My thoughts and prayers are with her family during this time of great sorrow.
