

Sandra Faye Davis Malone, of OKC, died August 2, 2011. She was born in Lawton, OK, February 10, 1936, lived in Shawnee until she was five, then moved to OKC. She attended Classen High School, Class of ’54, and the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She was an active member of Nichols Hills United Methodist Church for over 50 years and a member of the Junior League of Oklahoma City. She was active in the Theta Alumnae Chapter since college and was named “Panhellenic Woman of the Year” in 1992 by the Panhellenic Alumnae Association of Oklahoma City. She helped organize “Bosom Buddies”, a breast cancer support group. She served on the Advisory Board of the University of Oklahoma Institute for Breast Health at its’ inception and on the Executive Committee for several years. She was also a member of “Lynda Tarpley Tappers” for over sixteen years. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Albon W. and Thelma Davis and her brother, William A. Davis. She is survived by her husband of more than 54 years, George Dudley Malone; her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and James C. Johnson; her son and daughter-in-law, Philip G. and Sabrena Malone; her grandchildren Dr. Christopher Johnson and his wife, Megan, Matthew, Elaine, and Ashley Johnson, and Molly and Max Malone; her great-grandsons, Hunter James Johnson and Charles Samuel Johnson, and her sister-in-law, Mary Anne Malone. She is also survived by one cousin, Joel A. Whitten, five nephews, and two nieces. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Nichols Hills United Methodist Church.
