

Shannon Yolanda Calderon Primeau, 45, went home to be with the Lord May 12, 2015. She was born in Glendale, CA to George Calderon Ochoa and Shirley Ochoa Bellew. Shannon has four siblings. She met her husband, Edward J. Primeau of Silver Spring, MD at a gathering with mutual friends. Shannon graduated from Northwest Classen and attended OCCC before purchasing the dance studio from Jimmie & Carol Ann Crowell and becoming proprietor of the Everything Goes Dance Studio. She spent 17 years as the Director and owner, spreading her passion for dance making it her mission to share the joys of dance with Oklahomans through teaching and performances to countless students. She was honored as one of Oklahoma's official Artists in Residence, was an instructor with the National Endowment for the Arts Creative Communities program, and inducted into the 2010 OCCC Hall of Fame. Shannon was a featured artist, dancing with Oklahoma City Ballet in Carmen in 2014. She also performed with Oklahoma's own Edgar Cruz in appearances throughout the nation. Shannon was founder and artistic director of İFlamenco Fantastico! and continued the tradition of excellence as director of the award-winning Everything Goes Youth, Junior & Senior Companies, established in 1976. Shannon was the featured dancer/choreographer of Opera Olѐ! with Canterbury Chorale Society and the OKC Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009. She guest starred with Edgar Cruz in Canterbury Choral Society’s 2011 season premiere, “Latin Rhythms,” at the Civic Center. Shannon toured as the featured dancer with the late flamenco guitar master Ruben Romero. Shannon taught jazz, tap, ballet, Latin, hip-hop and flamenco. Shannon was featured at San Diego’s California Performing Arts Theatre and in flamenco videos for PBS Television. She was master Flamenco instructor and performer at the annual Robert L. Reed Tap Festival in St. Louis and the Kansas City & OKC Tap Festivals. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Ochoa Bellew and father George Calderon Ochoa, Brothers, Mark Calderon and Ernesto Calderon, and Sister Jorgee Reyes. Shannon enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. She was a loving and supportive wife. Her students were the joy of her life. Her loving spirit, infectious smile, and her crowd rising “Olѐ!” remains with all those who knew and loved her. We love you Shannon! Funeral services will be on May 19th at 10 a.m., at Crossings Community Church and the burial will follow the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family thanks the incredible outpour of support from our aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, the staff, parents and students of EGD, and the U.S. Navy. Additionally, the family thanks the doctors and nurses at OU Medical Center and caregivers at Crossroads Hospice for their excellent care and loving support.
