Shellie graduated from John Marshall High School and later attended the University of Central Oklahoma. Although she spent time living in Alabama, Oklahoma was always home, and it was where she built a life centered around faith, family, and creating
memories that would last a lifetime. On September 15, 1990, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Wayne Smith. Their years together were filled with love until Kenneth's passing on January 24, 2008. Though widowed at just 50 years old, Shellie faced the years that followed with remarkable strength, unwavering faith in Christ, and a heart that remained devoted to those she loved. If you knew Shellie, you knew she was always planning the next memory. Whether it was gathering the family together, taking another magical trip to Disney, cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, unless Alabama happened to be playing, or simply sharing a home-cooked meal around the table, she believed life's greatest treasures were the moments spent together. She often reminded her family that money comes and goes, but time with the people you love is something you can never get back. That lesson became one
of the greatest gifts she left behind. Her grandchildren were truly the center of her world. Nothing made her happier than
celebrating their birthdays, attending their milestones, or watching their faces light up at every visit. Her perfect day was simply spending time with them, making memories that would last a lifetime. Shellie was known for her fun-loving spirit and the little things that made her uniquely herself. She loved the color crimson, proudly rooted for OU football, and had a lifelong love of 80s rock music. Poison was always her favorite, but her playlists often included Bret Michaels, Journey, Mötley Crüe, Aerosmith, and Def Leppard. She never turned down a Hershey bar or just about any sweet treat, and she found joy in the simple pleasures of life when shared with the people she loved. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and a deep honesty that shaped everyone around her. Her family learned from her to always tell the truth, treasure relationships above possessions, and never miss an opportunity to make memories. As they lovingly recall, she also made sure everyone understood there were only two good football
teams in the world, OU and Alabama. More than anything, Shellie loved deeply, lived honestly, and always made time for the
people who mattered most. She wanted to be remembered not for the things she accumulated, but for the memories she created, the faith she carried, and the unconditional love she shared so freely with family and friends. That legacy will continue through all who were blessed to know her. Shellie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth Wayne Smith; her son, Jacob Harris Smith; and her mother, Norma Randall. She is lovingly survived by her children, Joshua Smith of Norman and Jennifer Rae Harjo and husband Dakota of Del City; her brothers, Ken Randall and wife Janet of Norman, Jack Pearson and wife Jamie of Greeley, Colorado, and Steven Randall and
wife Michelle of Edmond; her cherished grandchildren, Emersyn Aubrey Marie Harjo, Julian Duran Harjo, Olivia Reign Harjo, and Ryleigh Storm Harjo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and her beloved fur
grandchildren ; Lady and Bernese. Though her family will miss her every day, they find comfort in knowing that her faith has become sight and that she has been joyfully reunited with the love of her life. Her legacy lives on in every family gathering, every Disney adventure, every OU football game, and every memory made together.
