Edmond resident, Shirley Marie (Morrison) Guest, 64, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019. Shirley was born on November 8, 1954 to Hildard Russell and Doris Marie (Horton) Morrison. She married her best friend and love of her life, John Phillip Guest, on December 16, 1988. Shirley was a very independent woman who did what she wanted. Part of that was spoiling her family. She was always surprising them with gifts, just because she could. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listing to a variety of music. She also greatly enjoyed decorating and re-arranging every room in her house. Shirley was very organized and was the queen of plastic totes, much to her families’ amusement. Shirley and Phil greatly enjoyed travelling and spending time with one other. They could often be found in Florida relaxing on the beach. Most of all, she loved her family and her precious grandchildren. Her beautiful smile would light up even the darkest corner, and that will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was preceded in death by her parents. Those left to cherish their memories are her husband, Phil Guest; daughters, Jenny Heinrichs and Chelle Moroz; sons, Gavin Guest (wife Erin) and Russell Guest; sister, Velda Foral (husband Bill); brothers, Russ Morrison (wife Teri) and Joe Morrison; and grandchildren, Hannah and Maddey Moroz, Moxie Heinrichs, Anna, Harrison and Abby Guest, and Riann-Ashleigh McKelvey.

Deepest sympathies to Phil and all of the family. Shirley was a dear friend from early childhood at Sequoyah then on to Taft and to Northwest Classen. A woman who brought joy to all that she came into contact with. We are all better for having known her. Rest in peace Sweet Lady. You fought the good fight. Your work here is done. Godspeed.

Shirley didn’t just light up the room, she felt like the light in the room. Thinking of my memories of Shirley I feel her light. I can think of no person who would say an ill word about Shirley. At times we would all laugh until our eyes were soaked or we nearly peed ourselves...or both!
One time a couple of us were drooling over a new power tool when Shirley came to see what the big deal was. Shirley read the warning label on the tool, looked at us and with her trademark wit, smile, and a twinkle in her eye repeated the warning label in a way only Shirley could - more wet eyes and crossed legs...
What a Beautiful Person

She was always smiling with that great smile. Remember her since Taft & then NW Classen. I’m sorry I cannot make it to the service but praying for Phil & their families. Sad that another of our class has passed way too young.

Oh Shirley and Velda, my dear childhood friends. I have wonderful and warm memories as a child of playing hide & go seek; and seeing the parents all dressed up to go square-dancing! Oh, how I loved Shirley's mom's beautiful square-dancing dresses. What a heartbreak to hear of your loss. My deepest condolences and love to all the family, may her spirit soar.
