Sidney (Sid) King Paine of Midwest City, Oklahoma, passed away on February 4, 2025. He was born on August 19, 1935, in Worcester, Massachusetts to Everett Ashton Paine and Florence Ruth Paine. Sid graduated from Riverside Polytechnic High School in Riverside CA. He went on to serve in the United States Air Force. His Air Force service included serving overseas in Germany, Spain, and Turkey as well as in many states, including Alaska, California, Michigan, South Carolina, Texas, and Oklahoma, before settling in Oklahoma in 1977. Sid served his country for 22 years and was extremely proud of that. He married the love of his life, Sarah Jane Allen, on June 23, 1956, and they raised a loving family together.
He loved listening to country western music but enjoyed all genres of music. A perfect day for him would be camping with his wife and grandkids and planning the next meal that he was going to cook for them. Something that could always make him laugh was teasing people and telling funny jokes. Sid taught others how to be loving, kind, and generous to other people and to love our country. Most people would remember him as a kind and loving man to his wife and family as well as how much he loved to cook, camp, and fish.
He was a member of Midwest Blvd Christian Church, which provided him many opportunities to volunteer, which is something he enjoyed. Also, he was a member of the Sooner J’s RV Club.
Sid is survived by his wife Sarah Jane Paine; children Florence Grisham (Greg) of West Lafayette, IN; David Paine (Joan) of Layton, UT; Debbie Gray (Russell) of Edmond, OK; Renate McLaughlin (Doug) of Moore, OK; daughter-in-law Amanda Paine of Oklahoma City; 21 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; 1 fur baby; and various caregivers (Visiting Angels).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Paine and Florence (Menard) Malendes; son, Edward Paine; siblings, Don, Thelma, Rachel, Ben, and Carol.
