Raised in small towns throughout Illinois and Missouri, Susan distinguished herself early in life through her determination, intelligence, and love of adventure. In 1985, she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeast Missouri State University, now known as Truman State University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University in 1991. An outstanding high school basketball player, she went on to pursue a remarkable variety of interests. Over the years, she raced motorcycles, ran marathons, enjoyed watersports, flew powered parachutes, and became an avid golfer. Beginning in 2017, Susan devoted much of her life to dog rescue. Her efforts included hundreds of foster dogs, each given a chance at a better life through her care and commitment. Susan’s compassion reached far beyond Oklahoma. Former foster dogs found their forever homes in at least 20 different states. She is survived by her mother, her sibling, and husband, David Privett. She was preceded in death by her father and sibling. In lieu of flowers, the family takes their time towards selecting a memorial fund that goes towards animal rescue. Updates to follow.
