Tawnya Love Rozin (Peden), 52, of Oklahoma City, passed away following a tragic accident at her beloved Lake Texoma, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on August 23, 1973, in Oklahoma City to John and Trudy Peden.
Tawnya grew up in Newcastle, Oklahoma where she attended Newcastle High School. She was known for her kind heart, warm spirit, and the deep love she had for her family.
Tawnya never met a stranger and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome. She treated her children’s friends as if they were her own, earning her the beloved nickname “MawMaw.” To countless young people, she wasn’t just a mom; she was MawMaw, a second mother whose door, heart, and kitchen were always open.
She loved watching her boys grow up playing soccer and cheering them on from the sidelines. She also enjoyed spending time with family at the races, where so many special memories were made. Tawnya found great joy in working alongside her husband in their law firm, where they shared not just a career but a true partnership in life. Above all, her favorite place was Lake Texoma, her peaceful getaway where she could relax, laugh, and soak in the beauty of the water surrounded by friends and loved ones.
Tawnya was well known for her clumsy nature, often finding herself in funny or unexpected situations, but she never let her injuries or setbacks stop her from doing what she wanted. Her determination and spirit reflected her father’s stubborn, strong-willed personality.
Tawnya touched many people’s lives. From her high school friends, racing friends, friends met through her husband, Mitchell, and her new friends at Lake Texoma, her warm personality and willingness to help out at any opportunity, endeared her to this cornucopia of friends.
But Tawnya’s true joy was her family. She and her husband’s love for one another was palatable to all who saw them together. She was devoted to her sons, Logan and Kolyn throughout her life and made it her mission to be an integral part of their lives and the lives of their spouses, Chrislynn and Abby. But her greatest joy came from her grandchildren, Averleigh and Price, who she worshiped.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Mitchell Rozin; loving parents, John and Trudy Peden; brother, Trevor Peden; her sons, Logan (Chrislynn), Kolyn (Abby), stepchildren Leah (Justin) and Austin (Ashley), all of which she considered and treated as her children. Tawnya was also a proud grandmother to Averleigh and Price, who brought immense joy to her life.
