

Terry Johnson, age 53, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2017, at his home in Piedmont, Oklahoma. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 28 at 3 p.m. at Revival for Christ Club in Moore, Oklahoma with Pastor Christopher Colley, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Moore Cemetery under the direction of Chapel Hill Funeral Home.
He was born in Crescent City, California on February 27, 1964 to Eugene “Gene” and Donna (Kulp) Johnson. He was united in marriage to Christine “Tina” Vail on March 2, 1983.
He was preceded in death by his father Eugene Johnson, paternal grandparents Cecil and Hazel Johnson of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, maternal grandparents Oliver John and Lillian of Union City, California, father and mother in law Elmer and Joann Vail of Del City.
Terry is survived by his loving wife Christine “Tina” Johnson, son Terry Lee Johnson II and wife Nikki, daughter Tiffany Brown and husband Kyle and seven grandchildren: Sarah, Turner, Ashton, Nicholas, Tristen, Jordan and Kinsley (Sissy) all of Piedmont, Oklahoma; his mother Donna Johnson, brothers Donnie Johnson and wife Mary, Rodney Johnson and wife Pam, a sister Karen Brown and husband Carl. Sister-in-laws Regina and Angela Vail; two aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Having numerous family members, he moved to Oklahoma where he attended Del City High School excelling at football and track. Later he moved to South Oklahoma City and then to Piedmont.
He was a self-taught concrete contractor becoming the owner of Terry Johnson & Son Concrete. He worked for some of Oklahoma’s most prestigious builders for the last 39 years. He enjoyed and made many friends through his sports which were fishing, car racing, hunting and golf. He was a member of the IMCA, Johnson Racing Team and raced in the Oklahoma City area as #83. His racing adventures started in 2005 winning rookie of the year and included modified, sport mods and late models. In 2014 Terry won the championship at Southern Oklahoma Speedway in Ardmore. His fishing sport included being a fishing guide on Lake Texhoma for 12 years.
