Thelma I. Reid

Sep. 1, 1921 - Jul. 18, 2016 EDMOND Thelma Irene (Reed) Reid, 94, passed away on July 18, 2016 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was born in Peno, Oklahoma on September 1, 1921 to L.H. and Grace Reed. She graduated from Spiro High School in 1938. Thelma married S. Boyd Reid on September 24, 1938 in Poteau, Oklahoma and the couple lived in Guthrie, Oklahoma from 1947 until Boyd's death in 1999, where Thelma worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Oklahoma Furniture Manufacturing Company and Logan County Health Center. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; son, Gary B. Reid; brothers, Odell Reed, James Reed and Clarence Reed; and sister, Ruby Holt. She is survived by her brother, Larry Reed and his wife Carol Reed of Stigler, Oklahoma; granddaughter Jennifer Grigsby and her husband, Steve Grigsby of Edmond; grandson, Russell Reid of Oklahoma City; and great grandsons, Reid and Jack Grigsby and Jared Kerr and his wife Alicin. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 8701 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City at 10:30am on Friday, July 22, 2016.
