April 14, 1970 – November 2, 2026
Lovingly known as Tommy
Thomas Shane Spielbauer, lovingly known as Tommy, was born on April 14, 1970, in Amarillo, Texas. He passed away on November 2, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by the love of his family.
Tommy was a man full of life, laughter, honesty, and love. He was funny, outspoken, and never afraid to tell it like it was. He had a way of making people laugh and a personality that was impossible to forget. A true jack of all trades, Tommy could fix just about anything. If something was broken, he would find a way to figure it out. He was full of ideas, always thinking, creating, and finding ways to make things work.
Throughout his life, Tommy worked hard, including many years with JBS and International Paper. He took pride in working hard and providing for the people he loved. But above all else, his greatest accomplishment and the thing he lived for was his family.
Tommy and his wife, Bethany, shared a love that began in 2003, and they were married in 2006. Together, they built a life, raised their family, faced life's challenges side by side, and created countless memories. Tommy loved Bethany more than words could ever express. He often told her he couldn't live without her and that he loved her more than anyone. For years, he left the words “I LOVE YOU MTA 1” written on their mirror, a little reminder of a love that was part of their everyday lives. It was their special message, and a memory Bethany will carry in her heart forever.
To his grandchildren, Tommy was known as “Oppa.” The name came about when they were little and couldn't quite say Grandpa, and it became a special name that stuck. Being their Oppa was one of the many special roles he cherished. The love they shared with him will live on through the memories they made together.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Bethany Spielbauer; his children, David Spielbauer, Breanna Spielbauer, Nevaeh Spielbauer, Jeremy Ragsdale, and Shalamarr; his grandchildren, Melanie, Betty, Kaden MazeLee, and Bentley; his mother, Sandra Spielbauer of Amarillo; his sister, Tina Williams of Oklahoma; and his brother, Terry Sean Spielbauer of Amarillo.
He also leaves behind Caleb Collier, who became a special part of the family. Just a few weeks before his passing, Tommy gave Caleb his blessing to marry his daughter, Breanna. Caleb stood by the family throughout Tommy's hospital stay and was welcomed by Tommy to help care for him during that difficult time. That blessing and the bond they shared will always be remembered.
Tommy was preceded in death by his father, David Edward Spielbauer, who passed away September 22, 2019, and his brother, Wayne Smith, who passed away July 16, 2025.
Tommy's life was about love, laughter, hard work, family, and making the most of every moment. He was a husband who loved deeply, a father who meant the world to his children, an Oppa who adored his grandchildren, and a man whose honesty, humor, and ability to fix just about anything will never be forgotten.Though his family must now learn to live without his voice, his laughter, his brilliant ideas, and his presence beside them, his love will never leave them.
He will forever be loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.
I LOVE YOU MTA 1
