I am so proud to be your daughter! Your ninety-one years of life seem to short to me to be part of your journey.
You gave me life at conception in your family home in San Pietro, Italy. Your family farmhouse was a simple and modest home without running water or electricity. I was born at home without a doctor. My mother tells the story at the time of labor you went to search in a faraway village town for the only doctor available. You were unable to reach the doctor because you fell running down to the ground with cramps. None the less you returned home in due time and I was born in your presence with a neighborhood woman who assisted with the birthing.
We lived in Italy for almost a year and immigrated to California.
I know our family endured many challenges with newly migration to America. Our family was torn apart in divorce and so was our separated relationship of many years of on and off. We struggled and rekindled during those years. It is OK because I know we always Loved one another. I am a true believer that in life we make choices and live by them. I respect the choices we make and boundaries we set.
During our last days we spent together continuing our journey I will treasure the joyous moments of reuniting with you. No matter how difficult life challenges us at times. I cherish, appreciate, and live life to the fullest!
I appreciate you Daddy for all you have done and the sacrifices you have endured in your life. You are in my eyes an honorable, honest, and caring man. “I am so glad” and repeat your words of expression you spoke to me on your final days. Daddy my beloved Father I repeat to you and add to your words.
I am so glad to be your daughter!
And to add to many words spoken to me by you! Daddy, I promise I will feel your spiritual presence till we meet again in Heaven with our Heavenly Father!!
Rest in Peace Daddy! I love you eternally! Your daughter Delfina!
