Vernon attended Okmulgee High School up until the 10th grade, afterwards Vernon signed up to join the United States Navy. Vernon held a long career of 20 years with the U.S. Navy. After retiring with the U.S. Navy, Vernon went to work at Tinker Air Force Base as a Commissary for another 25 years. Vernon was proud of the time spent serving his country with the U.S. Navy and getting to live with the love of his life Juel Robinson until her passing marking 62 years of marriage. Vernon also enjoyed playing Domino's with friends, spending time with his family, watching Baseball, and attending the Choctaw Nazarene Church.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents, Gurb & Mattie Robinson; his beloved wife, Juel D. Robinson; sister, Jewell & husband Doyle; brother, Sandford & wife Karen.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Karen & husband Michael; daughter, Kimber & husband Mark; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
