Vicki Nell Welchel was born on December 31, 1953, to parents Merle Raymond Swanson and Ruth Eleanor Hammontree in Ashtabula, Ohio, and passed away in Midwest City, Oklahoma, on December 26, 2024. She moved to Oklahoma as a young child and lived there ever since, where she resided in Choctaw, Oklahoma. Vicki married the love of her life, Jurl Houston Welchel Sr., on February 18, 1977. Vicki attended OCCC, where she graduated with a nursing degree in 1993.
She enjoyed listening to classic country music, and her favorite color was purple.
Vicki is survived by her son Jurl Welchel Jr. (Eva) of Meeker, OK; daughters Jennifer Holland (Tom) of Harrah, OK; Kelly Horton of Midwest City, OK; and Penny Welchel of Guthrie, OK; and brother Micheal Swanson of McAlester, OK; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded by her husband, Jurl Houston Welchel Sr.; parents, Merle Raymond Swanson and Ruth Eleanor Hammontree; daughter Kim Reeves; and brother Jim Swanson.
