

Victor Ortiz was born August 25, 1932 to parents Ana Ortiz Ramos and Mercedes Ortiz in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico. Victor married Elsie “Ann” (Bishop) in Gainsville, TX on May 9, 1959. Victor and his wife made their home in Lawton, OK and started a family. Victor and his family resided In the Lawton Area from 1959-1980. He served his military career in the United States Army for over 22 years and received a purple heart in the Korean War on October 22, 1952. He worked at the Social Security office for over 31 years as a claims rep. They lived in the Odessa, Texas area from 1980-1995 and then moved to the Oklahoma City area in 1995. He earned a plaque from the government commending his 50 years of dedicated service. He went to Cameron College and graduated on the honor roll every year with his bachelor Degree. He is survived by his wife Ann Ortiz, sons, Carlos Wayne Ortiz, Lloyd Junior Hendon, daughters, Vickie Ann Ortiz Barfield, Betty Joy Ainsburg, Linda Diane Bounds, brothers, Luis Marquez and sister, Aura Trau and Nanie Marquez, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Phillipe Ortiz. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, OK.
