
Duane, as he was known to his friends, was born in Roanoke, Virginia to Nellie Lee and Victor Rupert Stuever. He graduated from Luray High School in Virginia, and then from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He spent his entire life in the agriculture business, dedicating the last 30+ years of his life to the business of raising and selling hay. This he did along side his wife SUNNY, each of which had their own tractors and duties.
He was a devoted member of Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church,spending his time and energies serving in many capacities, but most predominantly as an elder. He will be remembered for his steadfast loving nature to all who entered there.
He is survived by his wife SUNNY (Eileen), daughter Debbie and husband Darrin, 6 grandchildren and their spouses, and 12 great grandchildren. Son Shawn passed away in 2020, and has now been reunited with his dad.
Duane loved all things country and especially rodeo. Bull riding and calf roping in his younger days, and team roping as the years moved on. Creating leather specialties became a passion in his later years,
The funeral service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 1441 SW 104th in OKC at 10:30 AM on October 18th. Fellowship and a meal to follow the service. Visitation will be from 9:30 until time of service.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church. If flowers are preferred, have them delivered to the church between 9 and 10 the morning of the 18th.
