

Virgil Dean Callahan, 78, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 in Lawton, OK. He was the widower of Betty Carlene Callahan. They shared 48 wonderful years of marriage before her passing.
Virgil was born in Sallisaw, OK on February 19, 1946 to Raymond Virgil and Bonnie Mabel Callahan. He owned VC Drywall and worked as a sheetrock finisher. Virgil enjoyed going to the casino, was an honorary member of Eagles Lodge, going to the store in Amber, playing cards, and watching Addison play basketball. Overall, Virgil enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Sherry Ramsey of Fort Smith, AR, Angie and Gary Murray of Amber, OK, Shawn and Trish Callahan of Amber, OK, Waylon Callahan of Amber, OK, and Kailea Callahan of Amber, OK; grandchildren, Stephany & Sonny Dobbins of Fort Smith, AR, Tabitha and Daniel Polson of Amber, OK, Robyn and Kevin Farmer of Wagoner, OK, Josh and Tamela Murray of Tuttle, OK, Erica East of Rush Springs, OK, Mikayla Westergaard of Rush Spring, OK, Cody Watson, Callie Watson, and Chase Watson of Amber, OK, Madden Callahan of Amber, OK; Siblings Barbara Freddle, Ben and Nancy Callahan, Wesley Callahan, Billy and Dana Callahan, Charles and Beverley Callahan, John and Shelly Callahan, Frank and Christy Callahan, Shirley and Jody Hoffman. Virgil is also survived by many great-grandchildren, family, and friends.
Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Callahan; parents, Raymond and Bonnie Callahan; brother, Raymond Jr Callahan; daughters, Lisa Tipton and Tina Jackson.
The viewing will be on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at Advantage Funeral Home from 4-6 pm located at 7720 S. Pennsylvania Ave, OKC, OK 73159. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Pocasset located at 230 S. Washington St., Pocasset, OK 73079 with graveside to follow at Amber Cemetery, Amber, OK.
