

He, his mother, and his grandmother survived the 1960 tornado that destroyed Calvary Baptist Church. He played football and was in the FFA at Wilburton High School where he graduated in 1961. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College.
He met his wife, Kay, and they married on May 4, 1962. They were married for 61 years. They had a daughter, Kristy, and a son, Kevin.
He served in the US Army Reserves for 8 years. He was a member of Meridian Avenue Baptist Church where he drove for the children’s bus ministry. He retired from Oklahoma Natural Gas after 40 years. He started as a meter reader and retired as a district supervisor where he made many lifelong friends. He was also a member of multiple credit clubs, including The Oklahoma Credit Association and Missouri District Credit, where his long-time friend, Ray York, served as president and Lum served as treasurer.
Lum was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Edna Roberts, his sister, Shirley, his aunt, Nannie, and both grandparents and by his uncle Junior Mote.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; daughter, Kristy and her husband Danny; son, Kevin and his wife Kelly. Also his grandchildren, Justin and his wife Blaire, Jake, Kaitlyn, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Emmytt and Evan; his brother, Bob and his wife Lori and their children; brother, Jim and his wife Sue and their son, Vance; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 20th 5 pm - 8 pm at the funeral home. Funeral will be Thursday, Dec. 21st at 2 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with interment following in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
