Wayne grew up in Harrah, graduating from Harrah High School in 1947. He attended Oklahoma A & M as a freshman and first semester of sophomore year. Wayne delayed his college education to enlist in the Navy for the Korean War. He spent 25 years with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy, is a lifetime member of the OK Sheriffs’ and Peace Officers’ Assn., and achieved a 32nd degree with the Masonic Lodge. He will be dearly missed by his wife, Beverly Ann; Boston Terrier, Tootsie; brother, Warren and his wife, Judy. He will also be mourned by his children: Pam Punneo and Wesley Osburn and their spouses, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at Mayfair Heights United Methodist Church at 2pm Thursday, January 5; with visitation on Wednesday at Chapel Hill from
8am-8pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Mayfair Heights UMC.
