Wilda Mae Rives ~ Wilda was born May 10, 1926 in Okemah, Oklahoma to George Freeman and Pearl Hannah (Snyder) Denny. She went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2019, at the age of 93. She is survived by her daughter, Nelda Rives of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Patricia and husband David Hatter of Midwest City, OK; son, Stephen Andrew Rives of Choctaw, OK; sister, Mary Bealer of Iowa; sister, Wanda Bridges of Ohio; sister, Jean Bullard of Mt. View, AR; 4 grandchildren, Evan Moore and fiancé Candace Clark of Tulsa, OK; Colin Moore of Tulsa, OK; Ryan and wife Marissa Hatter of Edmond, OK; Jessica and husband Justin Wilson of Moore, OK; and one great-grandchild, Henry Wilson. Wilda was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Keith Dean Denny; brother, Wayne Denny; brother, George Wesley Denny; and her sister, Ada Faye Brown. Wilda was married for 25 years to Stephen Darrell Rives, with whom she parted in 1982. Wilda was a home-maker and took great pride in raising her children. She enjoyed gardening, especially growing her own vegetables. Wilda was an avid collector of cook books, from vintage to healing foods to modern. She perfected her homemade bread and shared recipes with family for generations to come. She entered the work force late in life and worked several part-time jobs, while she cared for both of her parents in her home until their passing. Wilda’s faith and serving the church and missions were lifelong pursuits. She left a legacy model of faithfulness, gentleness, kindness, independence and hard work. Private graveside services will be this week at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Memorials may be made in her honor to any Christian or Mission-based organization.
