

William Byron Donnell, 86 was called home to be with his beloved Lord & Savior on 22 February 2012. He was born 9 October 1925 to William Joseph and Mary Alice Collins Donnell on his grandparents’ farm in Fallis, Oklahoma. He served his country during WW II with the United States Marine Corp. In 1947 he married Loretta Jane Hurner of Detroit, MI. Together with their 3 daughters they made their home in the Oklahoma City area until her death on 10 January 1973. In 1949 -50 he attended the Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK. Upon completion he was employed by Tinker Air Force Base. He remained there until his retirement in 1980. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and a longtime member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and found great pleasure in conversing with others about God’s Word. In July 1985 he married Gloria Moles and had many joyful years together. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Loretta Jane, and two sisters, Lillian Carriger and Jean Shumate. Survivors include his wife, Gloria; three daughters, Rebecca Lou and husband Gilbert Gibson of Nicoma Park, OK; Diana Jane and husband Allen Watson of Marshall, MO; Annette Kay Donnell of Salt Lake City, UT; 4 step-children, Steven Moles of Snowflake, AZ; Lora and husband Mark Reed of Shawnee, OK; Tammy and husband Bruce Harrison of OKC, OK; Reverend Cameron and wife Angela Moles of Enid, OK; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midwest City, OK with burial following in McKinley Cemetery in Meridian, OK. He is dearly loved by all who knew him.
