Bill was born to Clarance S. and Georgia Leah Fearnow, on June 5, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bill’s father worked for the U.S. Post Office for many years while Bill was growing up.
Bill graduated from Classen High School in 1946, he then attended the Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Bill earned his BA degree in Architecture in 1951. Upon graduation, he attended the Chicago Institute of Technology school in Chicago, Illinois. Shortly afterwards, Bill was drafted into the U.S. Army and worked as a senior draftsman of the Fourth Army Engineer Section where he lived in France while designing army barracks.
On July 3, 1952, Bill was married to his wife of nearly 64 years, Beverly. Together they enjoyed life, raised a family, traveled, raised horses and loved each other.
After the Army, Bill started his 40+ years Architecture career first with Conner and Pojezny Architects, the architectural firm that is responsible for the innovative design of the First Christian Church on NW 36th & Walker in Oklahoma City. Bill stayed with the same firm for most of his career which eventually evolved to William R. Fearnow, Architect.
Bill was preceded in death by his son Jeffery Fearnow. He is survived by his wife Beverly of the home; daughter Jana Thomason and her husband Marty Thomason; brother Richard Fearnow and wife Jennifer of Lakeland, FL; three beautiful grandchildren; Jackie Thomason of Edmond, Oklahoma; Geoffrey Adam Fearnow and his wife Lula, of Union City, Oklahoma; and Cody Thomason of Edmond, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Seth Fearnow, Sayda Thomason and Everly Thomason and a niece, great-niece and great- nephew and many great cousins.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 8am-8pm, Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Funeral Directors, 6600 Broadway Extension. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the First Christian Church, 3700 N. Walker Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with graveside services following at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13313 North Kelley, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, please make an honorary donation to the equine program in Bill’s name to the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation, 205 4-H Youth Development Blvd, Stillwater, OK 74078.
