Bates, William Terrell '''Terry", 63, passed away Wednesday, May 11th , 2011, with his family by his side in Oklahoma City, OK. Terry was born January 21st, 1948 in St. Louis, MO to Ruth T. ''Johnnie'' and William C. Bates. He spent his childhood in St. Louis, MO until attending college at Kansas University in Lawrence, KS. After college he spent 38 years working for the US Air Force as a civil servant; 34 of those years were spent in Oklahoma City where he later retired from Tinker AFB in December, 2009. Terry is survived by his wife Lynn of 31 years, son James, daughter-in-law Karen, grandson Simon, daughter Laura, son-in-law Adam Gribben, mother Ruth, and his four younger brothers: Doug, Jim, Tom, and
Steve. Terry was a man who lived for his family. He was a beloved husband, dad, granddad, son, and brother. Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2011 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 3pm-8pm.
