Dr. Allen J. Addison, 83, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, June 23, 2018. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and friend to everyone he met.
Allen was born on September 26, 1934 in Richmond, California to Dewey and Marie (Zwach) Addison. He attended and graduated from Richmond High School. After graduation he went to UC Berkeley and earned a Degree of Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. He then went to UC San Francisco School of Pharmacy where he earned the degree of Doctor of Pharmacy. From 1958 to 1962 he served his country in the Public Health Service.
Allen married the love of his life, Harriet Mock on October 5, 1960 in Avon, Minnesota. Through this union together they raised their three children, Thomas, Lisa, and Paul.
Allen is preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Marie Addison. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Harriet M. Addison, his daughter Lisa Ann Addison of Olathe, Kansas; Thomas John Addison and his wife Nora of Olathe, Kansas; and Paul Allen Addison and his wife Laurie of Alpharetta, Georgia. Left behind to cherish his memory are his four grandchildren, Merritt Addison, Camille Addison, Parker Addison and Nakin Addison. He will be sadly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30a.m. Friday, July 6th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church 16000 West 143rd Street Olathe, Kansas. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas. Visitation will be 2p.m. to 4p.m. Thursday, July 5th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will begin with the praying of the Rosary.
