Alvin Jodean Bailey

Alvin Jodean Bailey of Gardner, Kansas passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the age of 90 yrs and 9 months. He was born on October 12, 1933 at home in Olathe, Kansas. He grew up in Olathe, Kansas and Seymour, Missouri.

He worked as a mechanic owning several gas stations in his life. He was also a dairy farmer in Seymour, Missouri for many years which he loved.

His faith in the Lord was strong and he was a member of Assembly of God in Olathe. He loved studying the bible and learning the word of God. Sunday school was something he enjoyed and always teaching others of the love he had for Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Mary Ann Reed Bailey; parents, Ethel Fuller Bailey and Ralph Bailey; Siblings: Donald, Darris, Retha, Dale; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alvin is survived by his 6 children: Shirley Brawner (Joe), Pat Bailey (Joyce), Landy Bailey, Deena Hannawald (Junior), Darrel Bailey (Elaine), Tony Bailey (Paula); Siblings: Freda Miller, Wayne Bailey, Neva Joplin, Theresa Todd (David), Betty Cribb. He has several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Alvin loved his wife and children so very much. He provided them comfort in knowing he would be with the Lord in heaven.

A visitation for Alvin will be held Friday, August 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 105 E. Loula Street, Olathe, KS 66061. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home with committal service to follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
