Billy was born July 5, 1939 in Braymer, MO to Alba Lee Hampton and Mildred Irene Hampton (Proffitt). He also had 4 siblings- Barbara Lee Malone, Arla Deane Barker, Jack Norvelle Hampton and Jimmy Bales Hampton who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1957. After graduating, Billy entered the US Air Force and served for 4 years were he met and married Arlene Marie Lynch.
Billy started working as a machinist for the Santa Fe Railroad, where he was known for his hard work and work ethics. He retired with 30 years of service and retired in 2002.
He is survived by his son Richard Wayne Hampton, his eldest sibling Alba Lee Hampton Jr., and many nieces and nephews.
Billy spent his recent few years remaining in the company of his loving son.
A Celebration of Life for Billy will be held at 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Sunday August 7, 2022 at the Sweet Tee’s Coffee Shop, 2063 E Santa Fe St, Olathe, KS 66062 www.sweetteescoffeeshop.com (913) 544-9705. There will be food and drinks.
