

Calvin Douglas Earl, 78, of Olathe, Kansas passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the Olathe Medical Center Olathe, Kansas. Calvin was born on December 27, 1941 in Longview, Texas to Melvin and Floralee (Simon) Earl.
Calvin attended and graduated from Richmond High School class of 1959. He worked at the General Motors Plant in Freemont, California. After the plant closed he moved to the Olathe area in 1983. Calvin worked for the Delco Battery Company in Olathe Kansas and at the Fairfax General Motors Plant in Kansas City, Kansas.
Calvin was saved at Church of Christ in Freemont, California. He was a dedicated member of Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars, traveling with his wife Melva and occasionally visiting the casinos.
Calvin is preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Floralee Earl. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Melva Jean (Stanford) Earl of the home, two sons Calvin Douglas Earl Jr. and his wife Kerri of Australia, Melvinn Earl and his wife Lavonn of Vallejo, California, four daughters Larna Earl of Richmond, California, Celeste Earl-Reed and her husband Jonathan of Vallejo, California, Melody Earl-Taylor and her husband Daniel of Vallejo, California and Sherall Earl of Sacramento, California, two step-sons Phillip Moore Jr. and Marlon Moore both of Lenexa, Kansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his fourteen grandchildren Dushawn Gulley, Karlee Gulley (Annik), Antoine Gulley, Lakeisha Gulley, Javon Hudson (Angelina), Rayard Simmons Jr., Zion Simmons, Treyvon Earl, Marcella Earl, Charlisa Greer, Marqisa Walker, Jalen Earl, Riley Earl, Delani Earl and one step-grandson Adonis Moore III. He will be sadly missed by his brother “Roddy” Lee Earl of Sacramento, California along with his niece Kassi Earl-Hern and her husband Jordan and his nephew Christopher Earl.
Calvin will be cremated according to his wishes. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020 at Guiding Star Missionary Baptist Church 3035 North 27th Street Kansas City, Kansas.
