Carl (Ray) Alpert, 86, of Olathe died April 4th at the Olathe( North) Homestead with Odyssey Hospice Care at his side. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church-920 Alta Lane-Olathe, Kan. Memorial services will follow at 11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to be made to the church or to Odyssey Hospice , 8735 Rosehill Rd., Ste #200 Lenexa, KS 66215.
Carl was born on February 17, 1925 to Ernest W. & Ella M. (Hollinger) Alpert in Paola. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines in 1943-1946 and worked at the Pan Handle Co. before serving his country proudly in the U.S. Army 1950-1952.
He married Betty Peckman in Feb of 52’ and they had 2 children, Blinda & Karl. Carl worked at several truck lines as a driver and dispatcher before retiring. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church-920 Alta Lane –Olathe and the American Legion.
Mr. Alpert is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Blinda of Olathe, KS and Karl Alpert of Paola; 1 brother, Burl (Bernadene) Alpert of CO; 1 brother-in-law, Lyman (Yvonne) Peckman of P.V., 3 nieces and 1 nephew . The Family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Homestead and Odyssey Hospice for all their care.
