Cody Lynn "Cods" Cheshire, of Lansing KS, died 10/16/26 at the age of 52 in the early hours of his shift for ATS Aviation. Cody was born May 22nd, 1974, in Medicine Lodge Kansas, son of Billy Rayford Cheshire and Lynn & Ronda Williamson. He was a fiercely loyal and complex man that loved in a way few people could, always looking for the best in everyone he met regardless of their walk of life or the mistakes they've made. By the ripe age of 4 years old, Cody was already a determined and goal-oriented person, riding his big wheel over 10 miles for the Cystic Fibrosis Bike-A-Thon, even riding the tires off of his big wheel. During his schooling he found himself involved with wrestling and baseball, though he never committed to sports in his later years he was always an outspoken advocate for bicycles and riding them.
Cody's occupational choices were diverse and vast; his jobs ranging from "Jumpin' Catfish!" To car sales, manufacturing and even a career in aviation mechanics. Despite the time he spent at work, Cody was irrefutably proud of his children above all else and did everything in his power to be a father to his 4 children, Eve Cates (Russel Cates), Lily Cheshire, Cooper Cheshire and Charlie Chesire, though he also found pride in his grandson Tyson Cates. Cody's creativity truly knew no bounds; as he spent an incalculable amount of time creating all kinds of art, experimenting with different paints, shapes and mediums, though paint and ink were hardly the encapsulation of his art. He was a prolific song writer that found an outlet in music whether he was listening, writing or performing it to those around him. More often than not his art was a reflection of his emotional state and a mix of the many inspirations he found within his life.
The community that Cody sculpted around himself was a testament to the impact he had on the lives of others, whether they had met as kids, at a convention, from his whatnot shows or even as a passerby on the street he was willing to engage, interact and bond with anyone over anything. He loved doing everything possible to try and make those around him laugh and have fun, Cody could both carry and kill the mood / conversation almost skillfully. Beyond his musical and artistic inclinations, Cody looked to his siblings, Ted Cheshire (Sandy Cheshire), Kasi Williamson (Rob Schlette), Jake Williamson & Taylor Williamson for any guidance, wisdom and support they could impart.
The love for him is eternal and he will be wholly missed by his friends, family, coworkers, and grandchildren. May he rest in peace, and may the force be with him.
