Cindy was the third of four children born to Irene and Murphy Guillory. She was born strong-willed and a bit ornery. Her family moved to Olathe, Kansas when she was in elementary school and she remained in Olathe for the rest of her life. She met her loving, handsome husband Jim after high school, and they married shortly after on January 22, 1972. Two years later, they welcomed their first son, Mark, and thirteen months later, their second son, Ryan. She was a devoted, adoring, stay-at-home mom for many years to her two children before working as a paraprofessional in the Olathe School District. Cindy later worked as an appointment setter for doctors’ offices.
Many people knew Cindy as “Tootie” and her family, extended family, and many friends were her biggest treasures. One of her favorite things was taking trips to Louisiana to visit many of those friends and family. Her favorite past times included trying out new recipes and shopping…all to share and give to those who were so precious to her. Tootie had a huge heart for those she loved and loved to give gifts. She also loved to laugh, be involved in traditions like “goodbye tag,” family baking days, and her dinners with her very loyal Gourmet Group of girlfriends.
Cindy (Tootie) will be remembered for all the heart she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each and every one of them. The past couple of years have been hard as she had to say goodbye to one of her sisters and best friend, Gale and she began to struggle with her health. However, she remained strong-willed, devoted to her relationships and regularly shared her love and faith for Jesus.
Services will be announced after the first of the year. We all know that Tootie would want those she loved most to gather, eat, and celebrate for one last time together. Celebrations were definitely one of her favorite things.
Cindy is preceded in death by her mother Irene Guillory, father Murphy Guillory, and sister Linda Gale Fiedler.
Cindy (Tootie) is survived by her loving, faithful husband, Jim Mahoney, her son Mark Mahoney and his wife Amy, her son Ryan Mahoney and his wife Beth, grandchildren Dylan, Maddy and Mack. She is also survived by her brother Glen Guillory, his wife Brenda, sister Junella Hiatt and her husband Jerry as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family members and loving, loyal friends.
