Dink was a student of mine in grade 7, 8 and 9 at Millbrooke Junior High School in Olathe(1967-71). He used to tell some of the greatest stories of adventure even as a teenager.  I remember that he kept Roger Clouser (science) and Larry Peterson (math) and I laughing at times when we really needed to lighten up...Dink was probably 14 at the time.  He was one of those special students I have taught during a 37 year career....a very special person indeed.  The world will miss Dink Kramer.  Bill Katzer (Social Studies/L. Arts)

We were only able to meet Dink on a few occasions, but he sure made us feel like we'd known him for years. He was bigger than life!!! I am so sorry for your loss.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Dearest Sue, Lindsey, Kyle, Kate, Sara Jayne & Scott, such sorrow for our Dink. A total Mensch of the highest degree. I will miss him terribly and know he is Rock Chalkin on that big blue highway in the sky in the arms of the angels.

I've known Dink since Junior High and although I moved from Olathe 30 years ago, our paths would cross from time to time when I came home to visit and I swear, he was always 'Dink'.  He will be missed and please know that my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.  God Bless you all.

Dave loved life, he never was unhappy, always made you laugh. A lot of good memories working with Dave at Stanley Elem., holiday get togethers with Sue & Dave, Jazz bands in Westport, many good times. He loved his family so much. May God watch over Sue and family at this difficult time.

I was first introduced to Dave by some close friends in 2002...His smile and fun-loving attitude were infectious...Dave was the kind of person that you wanted to be around. We will all miss Dave- my neighbor for over 20 years.  We had many many fun times out in the cul-de-sac with our block parties. So sorry to hear about my buddy Dave.  Dave and I met at the Phi Gam house at KU in August of 1974.  He was the first person I met and ended up living together all 4 years. He taught me how to live life in the big city. From all the concerts we went to in Lawrence and KC to KU football and basketball games to just hanging at the Hawk and the Wheel and the Sanctuary and the Bird and the…..crap I can’t think of the name of that other bars, there were so many…..ok it was mostly the Hawk.  Royals baseball games and then Westport after the game. We would call our fiends and yell in the phone “BALL GAME” and four or five us would jump in a car and be sitting in right field.  From the names we created from his nickname Dink…..DEEK, Deek Headley or just Headley, Deekus of Hopus, there were many variations. You could be in a crowd of people and if you heard the call DEEEEEK, you knew it was someone from the crew. Dink was the life of any party. I got to know his friends he grew up with in Olathe as he got to know some of my childhood friends. We all became quite a team of misfits. Dave and I were separated after college by distance but not in friendship.  He would come out to Dillon Colorado and then later Boulder and it was like we picked up right where we left off in college.  Great personality and a great friend who enjoyed living life to the fullest. The time we spent together in college I will never forget and consider it some of the greatest time of my life and will always look back on it with great fondness and joy. To Sue, Lindsey, Kyle, Kate, Scott and Sara, remember the good times with Dave as I am sure there were many. Thinking of you all!!
