Delia was selfless and welcoming, the embodiment of pure love, always putting others before herself and making everyone who entered her life feel cared for and at home.
Her greatest joy was her family. Nothing made her light up more than having her children and grandchildren together in one room, sharing food and laughing out loud.
She made sure there was always food ready, even though her husband, Geronimo, was the family cook. She would ask him to prepare something or pick up a favorite meal, especially when the grandchildren were coming. For Delia, feeding her family was another way of saying, “I love you.”
She also carried the joy of Christmas throughout the year. She loved choosing gifts and watching the children’s faces light up when they opened them. Their happiness was her happiness.
Behind Delia’s warmth was extraordinary strength. She worked hard, carried more than others knew, and often protected her family from worry by quietly shouldering life’s challenges herself. Even during difficult times, she remained resilient and devoted to what was most important.
Delia was the beloved wife of Geronimo; loving mother of Claudette and Corina; cherished Lola of Cooper, Henry, and Theo; and dear sister of Corazon, Norma, Belen, Lilia, and Mila.
Her legacy lives on in the lessons she taught through the way she lived: love without keeping score, work hard, take care of family, and always show up for one another. Her family will continue to gather, share meals, laugh loudly, and care for each other, carrying Delia’s love forward in everything they do.
