Deneise Ann Bird of Olathe, KS passed away Thursday June 3rd, 2021 at Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas due to complications from COPD. In 2016 she retired after over 30 years of dedicated work at Honeywell Manufacturing. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Warren; her first husband, Ronald Hammer; her second husband, James Bird; her daughter-in-law, Rhonda Hammer; and her brother-in-law, Ronald Runner. She is survived by her mother, Annetta Monse; five brothers and sisters, Ila Runner, Wanda (& Larry) Theis, Robert Monse, Alan Monse, and Lisa (& Mike) Thomas; three children, Ronda George, Vincent Hammer, and Angela Hammer; five grandchildren, Dalton Muth, Morgan (& Dillon) Reyelts, Sharon (& Travis) Fenimore, Gary (& Bri) Lee, and Amanda (& Adam) Bickley; ten great grandchildren, Aviva, Tikvah, Lylah, Kylie, Slade, Riya, Gwyneth, Quentin, Clayton, and Mason.
Deneise, frequently referred to as GG, was a lover of books, trees, flowers, true crime, and country music. Her greatest love though, was her family. For the last six years her great-grand daughters were the light of her life. Deneise was a resilient soul. She withstood many if life’s storms with great strength. She knew what she wanted and she was not afraid to get it. She like to do things her way and it was not at all easy to convince her otherwise. We like to say that she walked to the beat of her own drum. She was not shy about speaking her thoughts on a matter or being herself. She had a very tranquil spirit. She spoke in a calm and collected manner. Unless, of course, she was roused to great anger or laughter, in those moments she did not seem tranquil at all. She had many attributes that inspired her friends, family, and loved ones. She will forever be remembered as loving, strong, real, accepting, and absolutely beautiful, inside and out.
A celebration of life will be held at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home in Olathe on July 18th at 11:00 am.

I remember when I went into labor with Dalton. You Dick and Angela headed to Idaho within a couple hours and drove straight through to meet your first grand baby. You were so excited to be a grandma. You were an awesome "ma".
