Donnie L. Spencer, beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at the age of 73. He was born on February 16, 1953, and was proudly from Stanley, Kansas, where he graduated from Stanley High School.
Donnie dedicated much of his life to serving others. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired after 25 years of service. Following his military career, he spent 42 years working at Tension Envelope Company, where he built a long and dedicated career.
Above all, Donnie was a devoted family man. He loved spending time with his family and took great pride in being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be remembered as a loving husband to his wife, Doris, and a caring father and grandfather whose love for his family was at the heart of his life.
Donnie is survived by his loving wife, Doris Spencer; his three children, Brenda Kay Spencer Ortego, Donnie Dean Spencer, and Charles Spencer; his three stepchildren, Tina Stuller, Rick Stringfield, and Mike Stringfield; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirla Baxter; his brother, Richard Spencer; four nephews; and two nieces.
Donnie also enjoyed cheering on his favorite Kansas teams. He loved watching KU, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs, and sharing those moments with his family.
His family will forever cherish the memories they made with him and the love he gave so freely. Donnie’s legacy will live on through his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, and the many people whose lives he touched.
He was a loving husband, father, stepfather, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he will be deeply missed.
