

Emily Razo, 81, of Paola, Kansas passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at Providence Medical Center. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met. Emily was born on October 16, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas to Leonso and Refugio (Mercado) Thomas. Emily attended grade school in Kansas City Kansas. She married the love of her life Isaac G. Razo and through this union their nine children were born: Isaac Jr., Karen, Raymond, Mario, Russell, Gloria, Jesse, Eric and Janeen. Emily worked as a machine operator and several other positions at National Paper Company. She enjoyed spending time with her children, and nothing gave her more pleasure in life than to spend quality time with her grandchildren. Emily enjoyed cooking for her family and her homemade tortillas were the best.
Emily is preceded in death by her parents Leonzo and Resugio Thomas, loving husband, Isaac G. Razo who passed away in March of 2010, her son Raymond Razo, and two daughters, Karen McCoy and Gloria Razo. Emily is also preceded by her brother, Paul Thomas and sister, Angela Vallejo.
She is survived by her five sons; Isaac Razo (Jr.) and his wife Rhoda of Hillsdale, Kansas, Mario Razo of Paola, Kansas, Russelle Razo and his wife Caroline of Paola, Kansas, Jesse Razo and his wife Marsha of Springfield, Missouri, Eric (Buddy) Razo of Paola, Kansas and daughter Janeen (Missy) Walker and her husband John of Gladstone, Missouri, daughter-in-law Diane Razo and son-in-law Buster McCoy. Left behind to cherish her memory are her 24 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Emily is also survived by her brothers, Joe Tomas and Johnny Thomas, sisters, Flora Carrillo, Lupe Lopez, Carmen Conchola, Juanita Ruiz, Linda Chavez, Gladys Kline and Marylou Aceves
Emily will be cremated according to her wishes. A Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. The Rosary will be prayed to conclude the visitation. Immediately following the services at the funeral home, at the request of her family, everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life honoring their mother “Emily Razo” at the Hillsdale Community Center 216 Central Hillsdale, Kansas 66071.
