

He was born in Weir, Kan., on Sept. 5, 1938, the only child of Jess and Mary Worley. Fred was united in marriage to Joyce Lyerla on May 5, 1959 in Galena, Kan. Fred and Joyce made their home in Olathe, Kan. Fred moved to Olathe in 1958 when he started working for Delco Battery. In his early years he would, also, do contract work during the day. He later retired from Delco in 1989. Fred enjoyed his retirement working full time by owning and operating Worley's Retail Liquor. Later, he expanded the business by moving it across the road and opening a second store in Stanley. The stores became his passion. Fred enjoyed tinkering with cars and collecting any guns that go bang. He, also, enjoyed spending time with his family, especially the Sunday afternoon gatherings. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Lyerla) Worley, grandson, Jesse Stone, and his parents, Jess and Mary (Calso) Worley.
He is survived by four daughters, Hollanda (Holly), husband Jim Applegarth of Osawatomie, Kan, Lynette, husband Jeff Stone of Leawood, Kan., Tonia, husband Rick Montee of Shawnee, Kan., and Tiffany, husband Cameron Butler of Kansas City, Kan. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Trisha (Gene) Stevenson, Natalie Hamblin, Cody Applegarth, Killian and Logan Stone, Chase (Julie) Abernethy, Madison and Maci Montee, Lili, Ari, and Ella Butler and two great granddaughters, Katherine Stevenson and Mollee Abernethy.
