We just heard of Gayle's passing. We loved spending time with her and Kenny. She was a lovely and giving lady. We will treasure the times we had with her.

It was a pleasure to get to know you for a short time and to hear you laugh and see your very contagious smile. We see that smile in your grand daughter, Suzanne, many times. What a wonderful legacy you have through her. We are praying for comfort and peace to all your family because we saw and heard how much you were loved.

Grandma, this is by far the absolute hardest thing I have ever had to go through. You were my best friend, my day one person, my strength when I was weak, and my joy when I was happy. We have so many memories together that it is impossible to share them all in a lifetime. Holding your hand while you took your last breath was the most bittersweet moment of my life. I know you are not hurting any longer, and for that I am happy. Selfishly I am completely confused and sad. Every day was a holiday when we were together. I am going to miss our Thanksgiving dinner planning and cooking, our Black Friday shopping (don’t forget to suck you left toes in!!), when Christmas falls in the middle of the week and everyone else has to go home so we eat Shepard’s pie, watch movies, and sleep. But what I am going to miss even more, is the random times we were able to spend together. Anytime I was nervous about going to somewhere new you would say, “well you just be you. If they don’t like it, they aren’t very smart!” Oddly enough, I am going to miss you calling me to ask me to get up in your attic. I am going to miss going to garage sales with you. The random stuff we would buy then say “I don’t even know why I bought that!” Our shopping days, when you would buy more shoes! You never even wore half of them! I am so proud of you for leaving before you suffered too long.

PS- “Oh My Gosh, you are so BEAUTIFUL! I love you most, pretty lady. Always have and always will. I keep listening to your voicemails that say “Hi Punkin, I was just calling to say I love you. Nothing is wrong so don’t worry.” Maybe one day I will wake up and this will have just been a terrible nightmare.

On Saturday, I asked grandma if I could take a picture and send it to Tegan. She said “yes, but don’t make me look ugly.” She was so beautiful. This is the last picture I took of her.
