Georg Hofmann, 89, of Olathe, Kansas passed away at the Olathe Hospice House surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 5, 2021. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone he knew.
Georg was born on January 18, 1932 in Frankfurt on Main, Germany to Johann and Helnene (Herth) Hofmann. He moved his family to the United States in 1981. He met the love of his life Inge Margaret Tony Bergrath and they were married on August 28, 1956 in Offenthal, Germany. Together they raised their five children Hugo, Elke, Marion, Brigitte and Marita.
He loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren. Nothing gave more pleasure in life than the walks he would take with his children on Sunday afternoons, and then ending with apple juice for the kids and a cold beer for himself. Georg enjoyed tinkering on cars, and loved taking care of his Mercedes. He owned his own cleaning business and enjoyed traveling with his wife Inga and their friends. He will be sadly missed.
George is preceded in death by his parents Johann and Helnene Hofmann and his granddaughter Carrie Michelle Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-five years Inge Hofmann of the home, son Hugo Hofmann of Sugar Creek, Missouri, daughters Elke Leahigh and her husband Rick of Hamstead, North Carolina, Marion Harrington and her husband John of Olathe, Kansas, Brigitte Hofmann of Kansas City, Missouri and Marita Andrews and her husband Devery of Cabot, Arkansas. Left behind to cherish his memory are his nine grandchildren Abigail Hoffmann, Jennifer Bates, Christina Neisel, Hailey Bates, Cory Bates, Joshua McDonald and Brandy Taylor, Britney Farrar and Robert Andrews. Four great grandchildren Ava Odannell, Cheyenne Bates, Alicia Bates and Kinsley Daughtry. Georg is also survived by his brother Hans Hofmann and his wife Inge of Babenhausen, Germany and Margaret and her husband Heinz of Goetzenhain, Germany,
