Herbert "Paul" Jackson
October 28, 1937 – April 13, 2021
Herbert Paul Jackson, 83, of Baldwin City, Kansas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to everyone he knew.
“Paul” as he was known by his family and friends was born on October 28, 1937 in Carnegie, Oklahoma to Herbert Earl and Bertie Lorene (Roach) Jackson. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He married the love of his life Patsy Allenbrand Burger on March 30, 1968 in Carson City, Nevada. Paul worked as a roofer for many years before he owned his own roofing company. He was a Co-Leader of the Prairie Star 4H Club and a County Wide Horse Leader.
He was an active member of Hillsdale Presbyterian Church in Hillsdale, Kansas and currently a member of Redemption Bible Church in Baldwin City, Kansas. He enjoyed hunting, camping and fishing. He had an artistic streak that was well hidden. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Nothing gave him more pleasure in life than the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be sadly missed.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Bertie Jackson, his brother Elmo D. Jackson, and his daughter Sydney Weathers. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Patsy A. Jackson of the home, daughters Penny Hoffman and her husband Ken of Baldwin City, Kansas, Mickey Moschitto and her husband Ted of Atwater, California and his son Jack Burger of Salem, Oregon. Left behind to cherish his memory are his eight grandchildren Christopher A. Hoffman and his wife Jessica, Matthew P. Hoffman and his wife Diana, Katherine L. Hoffman, Jacqueline R. Casas and her husband Gabe, Jerri Jo Tegan and her husband Ryan, Nathan D. Weathers and his wife Shalie, Ryan A. Moschitto and his wife Cassandra and Aaron T. Moschitto. He is also survived by twenty great grandchildren and two sisters Melvagene Branco of Merced, California and Lavonna Bates of Atwater, California.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a “Celebration of Life” In Memory of Herbert Paul Jackson will take place at a later date. Inurnment with Military Honors in Leavenworth National Cemetery 150 Muncie Road Leavenworth, Kansas 66048.
