It was my pleasure to help care for this wonderful lady. She always held herself with such poise and dignity. She never failed to say Thank You at the end of our visits. Thank you for sharing her with us.

Irene was such a dear person and a great encourager! I looked for her every Sunday at the worship service, and she would always stop by the piano to thank us for coming! I'm so glad to have known her! I will miss her!

I am so sorry about the death of Mrs Irene Chastain. Irene and my husband were both in Good Samaritan Society for almost five years. I became good friends with Irene. After my husband passed away , I continued visiting with Irene. I took her a Christmas Gift and Christmas Card this past December. The gift was a silver gift box with a silver bow with lights inside. Sometimes I went with her to the Quilting Activity or other activity. I was there the day after they transferred her to the Cozy Cottage section and tried to help her adjust to her new surroundings. I visited her about every two weeks, until COVID. After that I called her once when they put the phone to her ear. I sent a card to her about a week before Mother’s Day. The day before Mother’s Day, I asked the nurse if they could take Irene in her wheelchair down to the end of the hall where the outside wall and door is all glass. I stood on the outside. The nurse told her who I was. We smiled and laughed and blew kisses to each other and made “ I Love You “ motions. Then I told her Hapoy Mother’s Day! She made my day as she smiled so sweetly! I just want you to know I will miss Mrs Irene, but I am so glad that she is in no pain anymore, nor confused in her thinking. God has healed her completely, forever. And she is happier than she has ever been ! May God comfort you and all the family as you remember sweet Irene! Love and Prayers,
